UPCOMING EVENT: Melbourne Food & Wine Festival ~ Discovering Italian Wines 11 seats left!Find Out More...
When was the last time you walked into a restaurant and immediately felt at home? the Carlton Wine Room reminds you of what old-school entertaining is all about; warm, instinctive hospitality paired with wholesome European food, and a wine list that flits easily between ‘textural’ and Italian varieties from the Old and New worlds. Join us for a quick bite to eat and a glass of wine, or make a night of it with a group of friends. We look forward to seeing you!
Chef Vartan Jerijian has created a menu for the Carlton Wine Room that is seasonally driven and focused on fresh local ingredients. The menu presents an uncomplicated selection, but its simplicity belies the thoughtful style Vartan brings to the familiar. Each dish is an expression of texture and flavour that is both surprising and satisfying; your attention is drawn to the ingredients, not to the technique used to make them.
The annotated wine list is Jay’s personal guide through the Carlton Wine Room’s ever-evolving cellar. The focus is on Italian grape varietals, both imported and local. There are iconic Australian vintages as well as boutique producers, with a monthly rotation of wines-by-the-glass. A few special features of Jay’s wine list are the serving of wines by the 1⁄2 glass and full glass, and carafe and an extensive selection of half-bottles.
There are three areas available for private functions: the Mezzanine, the Cellar dining room and the Tower Rooms. Each room is a distinct space that will suit different occasions, whether it be for an exclusive or private occasion or for a larger, extended celebration. When choosing to entertain at the Carlton Wine Room, you’re welcome to choose from our a la carte menu, or enjoy one of our set menus. For an extra special occasion, hire out the whole venue!
